About
Ultra Training Academy is a high-altitude martial arts gym in Alamosa, in Colorado's San Luis Valley, and the town's newest jiu jitsu facility. It sits on Main Street off Highway 285, in the Safeway lot across from Starbucks, and draws students from La Jara, Del Norte, Monte Vista and the rest of the valley. The core program is no-gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu: an all-levels adult class every weekday evening followed by open mat, plus kids classes split into a 5–7 group and the Lil' Gorillas 7–12 group. Beginner adult kickboxing with coach Faustino runs Tuesday to Thursday mornings, and the gym also teaches MMA striking and Muay Thai. The kids program puts discipline, confidence and life skills alongside technique. No experience is needed to start, and the gym also runs a free self-defense class for women and teens. Adult memberships run from $199 month-to-month down to $149/mo on a 12-month plan, with kids, family, drop-in, weekly and private-lesson options.
