About
The World Muay Thai Organization (WMO) is an international Muay Thai sanctioning body headquartered at Luktupfah Muaythai Academy in Bangkok, registered in Thailand since 2011 and recognized by the Kru Muay Thai Association (KMA), which is registered with Thailand's Ministry of Culture. Through national representatives around the world it sanctions amateur, pro-am and professional Muay Thai, from national and continental belts to WMO international and world titles, and keeps WMO world rankings by weight class for men and women. It also runs its own championships, such as the WMO European Championships (Rome, October 2026, about 300 athletes from more than 20 countries) and its first Asian Championships in Negombo, Sri Lanka, and crowns WMO world champions every year at the International Thai Martial Arts Games (ITMA Games) in Thailand, which it co-founded in 2016 with the World Muay Boran Federation and the KMA. Its president is Grand Master Chinawut Sirisompan (G.M. Woody), who also chairs the KMA.
