About
New Asgard Martial Arts is a martial arts gym at 61 S Reed Rd in Limerick, Pennsylvania, in Montgomery County northwest of Philadelphia. It calls itself "a world class martial arts gym for the people" and goes by the line "Asgard is not a place, it's a people." The gym is affiliated with TAC Team / Paramount BJJ. Every martial arts membership includes the on-site fitness and weight gym, and the mats are open whenever a class isn't running. Classes run seven days a week: Gi and No-Gi Jiu Jitsu from fundamentals to advanced (plus a leg lock class and a Sunday competition class), boxing, Muay Thai with post-class sparring, MMA, Sunday wrestling, and judo on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Youth Jiu Jitsu starts at age 5 and youth Muay Thai at age 8. Advanced and sparring classes need instructor approval. Your first class is free. Owners Cathryn and AJ Discianni are both Jiu Jitsu black belts and the gym's head Jiu Jitsu instructors. Cathryn is a three-time IBJJF No-Gi World Champion (2022, 2023, 2024) and the 2025 No-Gi Pan American champion; AJ, by the gym's count, has over 300 matches across rulesets with a 90%+ submission rate. The coaching team also includes Division I wrestlers David and Jake Campbell, several more black belts, and Muay Thai and boxing coaches with fight experience.
